Our goal is to take the stress out of event planning, allowing you to feel like a guest at your own wedding or event and making your day amazing and unforgettable.
After her first trip down the aisle as a flower girl at age five, Katy was enamored by all things wedding...the dresses, the flowers, the cakes! While she dreamt of being a wedding dress designer when she grew up, life led Katy down a different path, first as a ballet dancer until an injury ended her dancing career. Even during her dancing days, Katy had an entrepreneurial spirit, teaming up with her fashion-designer mother to create custom leotards and georgette ballet skirts to sell to her fellow dancers. Katy went on to study journalism and graphic design at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While in college, Katy started a pillow and home decor company, with her hand-beaded dupioni silk pillows being sold in boutiques across the country. Katy then earned a law degree from Tulane University in New Orleans.
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Katy decided to move to Los Angeles, where she began practicing law while dreaming about exploring her real passion: wedding and event design. Katy was always planning weddings and parties for her family and friends, but was ready to take things to a new level...and thus, Katy Carrier Events was founded!
Katy's love of crafting, graphic design, sewing and all things DIY is an asset to her clients, as she is thrilled to help them create details that will make their event truly unique. Katy's background as an attorney is particularly valuable when reviewing and negotiating contracts with vendors for her clients.
